Welcome to my blog,
where I share the stories behind my artwork, explore spiritual and mythological themes, and reflect on the creative process. Each post is a glimpse into the energies that guide my work.
Embracing the Autumn–Winter Flow | Spirit Art by Jo
As the days grow shorter and the evenings settle in, I can always feel the shift in energy when autumn turns towards winter. The signs are everywhere — dried orange slices on natural wreaths, candles scented with nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves, plus the comforting return of earthy, witchy creations for Samhain and Yule.
The air feels charged with transformation — a time for reflection, creativity and grounding before the new year begins.
It’s been a busy season behind the scenes here at Spirit Art by Jo! I’ve been re-categorising and updating my website, writing new artwork descriptions, uploading fresh photos, and creating digital room mock-ups to help you imagine how each piece might bring warmth and spirit into your home. It’s been a big job, but a rewarding one.
I’ve also taken the time to watermark my artwork to protect my creations. Sadly, some overseas sites have been using artists’ work without permission, so this extra step helps ensure my energy and art remain respected and secure.
Beyond the website updates, I’ve been out and about at local fayres — both as an artist and a visitor — reconnecting with friends, fellow makers and small businesses. There’s something truly special about those community spaces during the colder months: the laughter, the craft and the shared love of creativity.
On Facebook, I’ve been growing a welcoming community, sharing varied and meaningful content — from artwork updates to digital blessing card readings offered to my lovely followers. It’s been wonderful to connect more deeply and share positive, healing energy online.
I’ve also been creating handmade autumn, winter, seasonal and Christmas cards, along with pyrography and festive wooden tree decorations (See the Christmas section). I’ve wrapped individual Mystery Gift items — infused with festive and spiritual themes — which are available through the website (search “Mystery Gifts” to grab a bargain). I’m also planning to share behind-the-scenes tutorials soon for those who enjoy a peek into my process.
There’s more to come — new artwork is on its way and will soon be uploaded to the website. These pieces carry the colour, warmth and reflective energy of the season — a celebration of change, stillness and the beauty that winter brings.
As we move through the darker months, I’m embracing the slower rhythm, focusing on creativity, connection and gratitude for everyone who continues to support Spirit Art by Jo.
Thank you for being part of my artistic journey and for helping keep the magic alive all year round.
With warmth and blessings,
Joanne Davies
