Channelled Spirit Led Arts & Crafts
Joanne Davies is Medium and a self-taught artist from South Wales, currently residing in Pontyclun, UK. After leaving her career due to ill health, Joanne found solace in art, channeling her mediumistic gifts to create meaningful works of tribute and commissioned portraits. Working primarily with watercolour, ink, and acrylics, Joanne also explores pastel, charcoal, mixed media, and recycled materials.
Inspired by the spiritual realm, Joanne’s art often intertwines mythology, animals, deities, and visions encountered during meditation. Creating art has become a crucial part of her journey in managing chronic pain and illness, contributing to her mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing, and restoring a sense of purpose in her life.
Joanne’s notable piece, "Love Knows No Boundaries COVID-19," was exhibited online during lockdown in the Big Art of Wales exhibition, and later featured in the "Voices of Change" exhibition, as well as in an ongoing display at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff. She also led an online art tutorial for the “Follow Your Dreams” charity, guiding members with disabilities in creating Dandelion paintings.
Her artwork has been generously donated to various charities and raffles, including Hope Rescue and City Hospice. Joanne’s original Panda watercolour was auctioned off, and her mixed media piece, "The Girl on the Swing," was purchased by art appraiser and TV personality Ben Rodgers Jones as a Christmas gift for his daughter.
Joanne’s work has been published in several magazines and diaries. In addition to painting, she creates wood-burned pyrography and hand-painted log slices, all available through various holistic wellbeing , metaphysical and retail outlets and her online shop, Spirit Art By Jo. Limited edition prints and greeting cards featuring her artwork are also available, making her creations more accessible to a wider audience. Joanne has seen spirit since a young age and her spirit guides encouraging her to use her artwork as a tool for teaching and others personal development.
